Crochet

Learn to Crochet

Over this 3 week course you are taught how to do all the stitches used in crochet, how to work in a row and in a round. We teach you how to read patterns and charts, increase & decrease, do colour changes and how to tackle amigurumi.

No previous experience necessary.

£55 for 3 week course includes materials and refreshments

Tunisian Crochet

On this course we show you the Tunisian way of crocheting. You will learn the Tunisian simple stitch (TSS) reverse Tunisian simple stitch, Knit stitch, purl stitch and the extended simple stitch.

Advanced Crochet

On this 2 Week course we show to successfully increase you stitch library, with popcorns, shells, clusters and crocodiles! In week 2 we teach you how to work around the post, and how to change the order in which you approach you stitches. You leave having mastered basket weave, cross cables and cabling into the row below.

Mosaic Crochet

This method of crocheting uses two colours to create motifs within your crochet. We show you how to master the technique as well how to design your own motifs and implement them. You will be given a pattern and all materials needed to make a cup coaster.

Knitting

Learn to Knit

During this 3 week course we show you how to cast on, cast off, knit, purl, change colours, increase & decrease and read patterns. We demystify the different weights and types of wool and needles as well as giving you lots of hints and tips on how to continue on your knitting journey.

No previous experience necessary.

Finishing Techniques

The finishing techniques course is always very popular and it is aimed at knitters who want to improve the finish of their projects. We cover, using the right cast on methods, picking up stitches, button bands, sewing up, joining yarns and leaning increases and decreases. You have examples to practice with and when you leave you will be more confident at finishing off your projects and doing your knitting justice!

Starting Socks

This 2 week course celebrates everything sock! You are shown how to knit a pair of socks using dpn’s or the magic loop. We help you turn the heels and point the toes!

Weaving Wall Art

Our weaving courses show you a number of types of weaving and looms. We teach you how to weave to make a fabric and how to weave to make a picture.

Learn how to Needle felt sheep, you have a choice of designs ranging from traditional sheep to comical bookmark sheep! You will work with a range of fleeces and natural fibres and learn all the techniques you need to start your new hobby!

Learn how to use fleece to create a beautiful felt wall hanging, You can choose from a number of designs or create your own! You will work with a range of fleeces and natural fibres.

Terms & Conditions

  • We will reserve a place for 7 days but the place will not be confirmed until Full Payment of the class fee is received.

 

  • If you reserve a place but have not paid in full and another customer wants to purchase the place, you will be given 24 hours to pay the fee before the other person is booked into your place.

 

  • Each class is subject to a minimum number of participants, If that amount is not reached you class may be rearranged or a refund offered.

 

  • If a class is full you can be added to a waiting list without payment of a fee. If a place becomes available you will be offered the place and the fee will be due in full. 

 

  • If we put on a class specifically for you on a date and time of your choosing we will require the full fee to be paid upon booking.

 

  • If a class is cancelled by the pupil up to 21 days before the class a full refund of fees is available.

 

  • If a class is cancelled by the pupil within 7 days of the class 50% of the fee will be held by Brigg Wool Shop unless the place is filled by another customer.  Brigg Wool Shop will do it’s best to promote and fill the space during this time. If the place is filled a full refund will be issued

 

  • If a class is cancelled by the pupil within 24 hours of the class or a pupil does not attend a pre-booked class no refunds will be available.

 

  • If we have to cancel a class, we will contact you as soon as is possible and offer a choice of alternate dates. If you no date is suitable within 3 months of the original booking you will receive a full refund
