Craft & Chat is our social group that we run throughout the week. It is a relaxed get together where you bring your own project with you and enjoy good company from like minded people. There is no need to book just turn up and have fun!
Craft & Chat
We run four craft and chat groups throughout the week. They cost £3.50 per session and include refreshments and nibbles and lots of giggles. They are;
Monday – 1pm – 3pm
Monday – 6pm – 8pm
Thursday – 10am – 12pm
Friday – 10am – 12pm
It is worth ringing the shop on 01652 408632 to check there is a place available as they can get quite full. All of our Craft & Chat sessions can cater for any dietary requirements and most access requirements
Brigg Community Crafters & Charity Knitting
We started the Brigg Community Crafters after the last Covid lockdown, along with a number of volunteers the group runs from 10am until 4pm every Tuesday. It is £1 the day whether you stay for two hours or six!
The group use donated wool to make garments that they sell on the arts and craft market and then donate the money to charity.
They also make hats and cardigans for the local hospitals, blankets for the dogs home and anything that is needed for different appeals, some clothes have gone to the Ukraine others to the local women’s shelter.
The group are also responsible for some of the yarn bombing that happens in Brigg, they bombed the town for the Queens Platinum Jubilee and have some amazing work under way for an event coming up soon!
If you feel like getting involved you can pop into the shop anytime or just come on a Tuesday to the classroom and meet some lovely likeminded people.
Clubs
We have anumber of clubs that run on a monthly or weekly basis that allow you to perfect your skills with like minded people.
More Clubs are planned but for now we have;
Blanket Club
This is held on the 2nd saturday of every month from 1pm until 3pm and costs £17.50 for one pattern or £20 for two. Each month we take up the challenge to knit or crochet that months pattern (all of which are written in house by Sian). We provide the wool, tuition and the refreshments all you need is yourself and your needles or hook!
Sock Club
This club is also held on the 2nd saturday of every month from 3.30 pm until 5.30pm. Each month costs £15 and we take 2 months for each sock pattern. All patterns are written in house by Sian so are unique and can be tailored to your needs. Each sock has a new technique to learn whether it is a new type of heal or a new cable or even new toes! As always refreshments are included in the price and all you need are your needles!
Warhammer Club
Every Saturday is our Warhammer club or paint and play as we like to call it! It starts at 10am until 4pm and we charge £3 for half day £5 for full day. We include refeshments and use of our paints in the price. You can spend the day at the paint stations comparing your models to the other painters or you can play a game with some of the other members. If you havn't played before don't worry we have some great volunteers who help you to learn and enjoy the game.
